Boom

So at the Circus at the very end there was a human cannon ball, in my opinion this was the best part, to bad he only did it once.

Airplanes and Elephants

I am sad to say that it is Sunday. That means tomorrow is Monday and it's the beginning of the week-again.

This has been such a fun weekend. On Thursday night, our friend, Clint, flew into Tulsa to visit us. We picked him up after class and came back to Stillwater. On Friday, I had already put my time in for the week, so I was able to take 1/2 the day off : D Chris still had to work, but who really calls flying work?!

I got to lunch with Clint and catch up. It is always so great to spend time catching up with good friends. We even got our exercise in. I toured him around campus and took a walking lap around a nearby lake. We really enjoyed the beautiful weather. Lucky for us, Chris' last flight was canceled due to the wind, so we all came home and had dinner. Fajitas! YUM!! My personal chef, Chris, prepared a wonderful dinner.

We hung out on Friday night and woke up kinda early Saturday morning (kinda early was like 8am-which was sleeping in for me : ). We had one of my favorite college breakfasts-Bacon, Eggs, and Pancakes. Chris was having a hard time waking up-but it's amazing how quickly the smell of bacon can get a person out of bed!

We took Clint back to the airport in Oklahoma City that morning so he could catch a flight home. Here he is, all dressed up in his work uniform:

And us being goofy:

We were sad to have him leave so quickly, but we are glad he came to see us. (I think he wanted to see the progress on his crown royal quilt...yes, it's coming together slowly!)

We spent the rest of the day in OKC being tourist and going to the circus. We started off at Bricktown:

This is an area of OKC where there are restaurants, a river walk, etc-kinda like Old Town in Wichita, KS. We walked up and down the river walk area and stopped for lunch along the way. Chris was being goofy, as usual.Haha!! This picture makes me laugh!

And of course, us:

We also saw a bunch of people gathered up by one of the restaurants. Chris said there was a casting call for The Biggest Loser! That is one of my favorite shows. So I will be interested to see if anyone from OK makes it on one of the upcoming shows!

After the river walk, we went to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. I have been there once before, briefly, but Chris had never been there before. It is such a beautiful memorial.

Then, we went to THE CIRCUS!!!

I haven't been in years, so when we saw it was going to be in town, I couldn't resist. I wanted to see the elephants! And boy did the elephants steal the show (or so I thought). They were so speedy! I was impressed that such a large animal could be so quick and amazing. They had the elephants parade around the arena and do tricks. Even the tigers had nothing on them! (I was disappointed by the tigers...not a good act by them-no offense)

I wanted to paint the elephants toe nails : D maybe I'm the only one to think that it would be cool to have an elephant with painted toe nails. : D

There were several good acts and we really enjoyed our trip. I think Chris enjoyed seeing me all excited about the elephants and I enjoyed the entire day.

Today was spent doing some homework and just chilling out. It has been a great weekend and we really enjoyed having our friend in town.

Sleepless in Stillwater

Tonight just finished a flight with a student of mine. I'm exhausted from a long day, but glad that it's Wednesday. A friend of mine from college is coming to visit us this weekend. We're really excited to have him in town. However, that means that in order to hang out, I had to make up my time at work-so that means I have gone in early the last couple of days in order to spend time with our friend. That's ok though-how often do you really get to see your good friends?! I would easily take a couple of sleepless nights if it meant I got to spend some time with my friends or family.

Chris is up gallivanting the skies at the moment. He has a later lesson with his student. That's ok-it gives me a few minutes to catch up from the day and catch my breath. : D

I just can't wait until it's Friday!

Oh-i just remembered...i forgot to talk about Valentine's Day....my "fav" holiday...not. So, since I think i should be loved all year long, i don't really like this "buy roses/chocolate, take me out to dinner the same night everyone else in the world goes out to dinner" stuff. So we celebrated the evening at home with a nice meal and good company. We had our friend over for dinner and had a great time. We even watched the movie "August Rush." If you haven't seen it, it's a good flick.

Good night everyone.

Happy Birthday Ashley!

Jeremy's girlfriend, Ashley, her birthday is on Monday! HAPPY 21st! Well, since I haven't gotten these pictures up yet, I am going to post them today. These were from when Jeremy, Ashley, and Theresa came to visit us in January. I was without a voice, but I still enjoyed the weekend. One of my favorite parts about them all coming was that even though I was under the weather, they all pitched in and helped make breakfast, see pix below. I felt bad that I couldn't help, but I suppose that if you have 3 Laws kids in the kitchen, each of them would have told me the same thing: NO, we have it-and go sit down and drink your tea. Darn stubborn jean! ; D

And Dinner too:

We all had a good weekend back in January. I think Jeremy came to collect his chocolate cupcakes...hmm...I bet Ashley will want cupcakes too...!

Monday Monday...

Today I feel slightly accomplished. While I did not get to fly : ( I did get a LOT done at the office today and that is always a good feeling. Mainly, one of the things on my TO DO list has been: Clean out my personal email account. UGH! I have been slacking over the past 6 months or so...I let a horrific 650ish emails pile up over time : ( yes...i know....!

SO-with the new year, I have made it a priority to keep my email inbox clean. So-I started off with my work email...as I am on it 24/7. I have been pretty successful with that...so I am now into my other email. It is amazing how these things can stack up. So, one day at a time, I'm working on staying on top of these things. I think it gives me a sense of ease when things are in order--and I think having these little things in order will help me keep the rest of me somewhat organized. However, this is going to be an on-going battle...so we'll see how it goes! Now I only have 2 messages in there, which I am waiting to file away or delete until I get responses on them! yay!

Tonight Chris has a Phi Delt event at the local chapter's house. I'm excited for him. He and Delton are there for dinner and get all dressed up. So it's just me, myself, and I to cook for. : D I can't decide who I'm more excited for...Chris or myself-we both get to do something we enjoy. I get to work on quilt stuff, and Chris gets to hang out with some Phi Delts and Delton.

What a great Monday.

Saturday in Stillwater

Yesterday we got to enjoy the day, despite other plans that were supposed to happen. Chris had the opportunity to go to KC for some church stuff, but when it all came down to it, he ended up not going. Since the plan was for him to go to KC, I was going to be dropped in Wichita on the way. Well, as plans go-they are often subject to change.

We ended up staying in Stillwater this weekend, which ended up being better for us. I had the opportunity to get some things done which i needed to do, and Chris got to go to flight team practice, which was great too. What is flight team? When we were at K-State Salina, they had a flight team too. It is an intercollegiate competition to work on safety and skills as a pilot. Basically, a flight competition focusing on precision, different piloting skills, and even some ground events like computations, etc for flying. While neither of us competed in our undergraduate, Chris has had the opportunity to be a coach here at OSU. We are REALLY excited about it and Chris went to their first landing practice yesterday. It sounds like it's going to be a LOT of fun. I'm pretty stoked too, as I was always excited to hear about our KSU-S flight team, even though I never competed. (I had my hands in enough things, and therefore, i was just an avid supporter of our KSUS Team : )

Last night we went to church, then on a dinner date and out to a wrestling meet. OSU is one of the national powerhouses of wrestling, and Chris has been ecstatic about going to a match some time this season. Needless to say, I had a good time too. My wrestling knowledge is not nearly as extensive as Chris', but I learned more of the lingo and was glad I was never a wrestler (not that I ever had an interest in getting sat on and twisted in uncomfortable positions). Chris had a big grin on his face all night and it was a good time.
